Elayne Stecher
Biography
Elayne Stecher is a PhD candidate in Political Science at UCLA and holds an MS in Statistics from UCLA. Her research focuses on political violence, survey methodology, and causal inference, with a particular interest in how exposure to violence shapes political attitudes, beliefs, and behavior. She employs experimental and observational research designs, combined with advanced statistical methods, to strengthen causal inference in the social sciences and promote ethical, evidence-based research in conflict-affected areas. She also holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago and a BA in International Relations and Arabic from Tufts University.
