UCLA Ph.D. Givens Named New Menlo College Provost

UCLA alum Dr. Terri Givens (Ph.D. 2000, Political Science) has just been named Provost of Menlo College, a highly regarded private business school in the Silicon Valley area of California named among the “Best in the West” by Princeton Review last year. 

She is currently in the Government Department at the University of Texas, Austin, where she is Associate Professor, teaching there since 2003.  From 2006 – 2009, Dr. Givens also served as a Vice-Provost at UT-Austin.  In addition to a great many other writings she is the author of Voting Radical Right in Western Europe (Cambridge Univ. Press, 2005), and more recently, Legislating Equality: The Politics of Antidiscrimination Policy in Europe (Oxford Univ. Press, 2014).  

Dr. Givens received her Political Science MA degree from UCLA as well, and joined the faculty of the University of Washington shortly after being awarded a UCLA PoliSci Ph.D. in Comparative Politics and Methodology.
