UVA’s Prof. Balfour leads 2nd Wolfenstein Lecture

For the 2nd Annual E. Victor Wolfenstein Memorial Lecture, Thursday afternoon, October 23, UCLA Political Science is pleased to welcome Prof. “Lawrie” Balfour, interim chair of the University of Virginia’s Woodrow Wilson Department of Politics.  Her subject is: “Fugitives’ Democracy: The Political Worlds of Toni Morrison’s Essays and Fiction.”  Prof. Balfour — the author of two books and numerous articles on race and democratic theory — is now working on a book project on the subject of reparations for slavery and Jim Crow.
