Biography

I am an International Relations Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. My scholarship focuses on international law, human rights, political violence, and international organizations, with a particular focus on the politics of preventing and punishing mass atrocities. My research examines how international institutions document violence, attribute responsibility, and support accountability. I am on the academic job market in 2026–27.

I am currently a Genocide and Atrocity Prevention Research Fellow at the Simon-Skjødt Center for the Prevention of Genocide and a Data Consultant for the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Early Warning Project, where I contribute to statistical models that identify countries at risk of new mass killing. I have also served as an Adjunct Professor in the International Studies and Languages Division at Pepperdine University and as an Instructor and Teaching Assistant in the UCLA Department of Political Science.

Before beginning my Ph.D., I earned a Master of Public Administration and a Certificate in International Policy and Planning from the USC Price School of Public Policy, and a B.A. in International Studies with a minor in German from Pepperdine University. I was awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Germany in 2013. My professional background includes experience in international education, student advising, nonprofit administration, and social justice advocacy.
