Clara Stelow
Biography
Clara Stelow is a PhD student at UCLA in Political Science with a concentration in political theory. Her research interests broadly concern liberal legal thought, from property and contract doctrines to international law, with a particular focus on how legal discourses have historically legitimated imperial expansion. She is also interested in legal theories of technology and the governance of digital infrastructure.
She holds a BA with honors from the University of Chicago, where she studied political theory and philosophy, and has published in critical theory. Prior to her PhD, she worked in immigrant and refugee services and labor rights organizing, experience that continues to ground her interest in questions of law and political economy.
