The UCLA Department of Political Science invites applications from outstanding candidates for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin on July 1, 2020. We are particularly eager to consider applicants who specialize in American Politics and related fields. In addition, we will consider especially strong applicants working in other fields (including comparative politics, international relations, methods, political theory, and racial/ethnic politics). Pending administrative approval, we will also consider applicants at the rank of Associate Professor.

The online application should include a letter of interest, a curriculum vitae, a statement of research interests, the aforementioned diversity statement, evidence of teaching excellence in related courses, at least one writing sample, a graduate transcript, and three letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation should be uploaded directly by the referees. Appointments will be effective on July 1, 2020. A PhD in Political Science or related field should be in hand prior to the appointment. To ensure full consideration, the online application should be completed by September 16, 2019. Applications will be accepted, however, until the position is filled.
