Professor Lynn Vavreck appointed to the Marvin Hoffenberg Chair in American Politics and Public Policy.

Professor Vavreck is an acclaimed teacher, an outstanding mentor, and a high profile scholar of political campaigns, elections, and public opinion in the U.S. She is a leader in the discipline of Political Science. She has set the agenda for the study of political campaigns, established path-breaking models for using methodological advances to understand political communication and public opinion.  She has raised the discipline’s standards of evidence and has pioneered powerful new data collection techniques.  She has also led efforts to demonstrate the relevance of political science research outside of academia, becoming the foremost ambassador of careful data-driven analysis.  She is a dedicated mentor, a generous colleague and a widely admired role model.
