The UCLA Department of Political Science, world-class department on the cutting-edge of the discipline is making a special effort to enhance its diversity both in terms of its curriculum and its graduate student population. The Political Science Diversity Initiative at UCLA aims to advance qualitative and quantitative research perspectives on women and underrepresented minority groups in the Department of Political Science.

Scholars study a broad range of fields (e.g. Comparative Politics, Political Theory, International Relations, American Politics, Methods and Models, and the newest and fastest growing subfield of Race, Ethnicity and Politics) and engage in cutting edge research. Diversity Science extends to qualitative and quantitative science to understudied populations including racial/ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, individuals with minority sexual orientations, and diverse socio-economic classes.
